Universal Truths That Are, In Fact, Untrue

Some things just aren't true.
"A spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down.". What a crock. I try to make it a point not to take medical advice from a woman who travels across country via umbrella. A spoonful of sugar doesn't help the medicine go down; it does however add an increased risk of obesity and diabetes to whatever ailment for which you were originally taking the medicine. False.

"Breakfast is the most important meal of the day." Please. Breakfast is for morning people. Morning people are weird. So there.

"Cheerios may help reduce cholesterol." Only true if eaten instead of bacon. This is moot anyway. See number 2 above.

"Power corrupts;absolute power corrupts absolutely." This one is serious. A Christian cannot believe the way he does and still hold this statement to be true. We serve a God who holds absolute power. The truth is that power reveals pre-existing character. Power doesn't corrupt it just throws light on what was already there. That's called integrity.
