Road Trip

A few weeks ago, while Krisi was racing for the cure, I took a weekend trip with some of the guys in our life group. We left Little Rock at 8 on saturday morning driving one of the church vans and we headed to Dallas. Our first stop was at a ginormous mall where the Cowboys' pro shop is. One of the guys on the trip had a buddy that works for the Cowboys who got 40% off Cowboys' gear. If you give a Cowboys fan 40% off, he will shop like a girl. Takes forever! While we were there, Tony Dorsett was signing autographs at a store adjacent to the pro shop so we went down there and met the Hall of Famer. That was cool. After the mall, we went to Dave and Buster's. If you don't know what Dave and Buster's is, think of Chucky Cheese for old dudes. It was a blast. Then we went to The Village Church for their Saturday Night worship. Awesome. After we got our praise on, we went to the home of a cousin of one of the guys' wives. They were gone for the weekend but they allowed some complete strangers to stay in their home for a night. In exchange, we fed their dog. They had a large, large TV so we played XBOX Halo 3 until about 4 in the morning. Interesting fact about Alan-He is horrible at Halo. Bad, very very bad. You wouldn't believe me if I told you. Anyway, the next morning we got up and arrived at Texas Stadium around 11. We tailgated. We read from the word and had our own little communion in the parking lot. Awesome. 12:30 to 1 or so, we entered the stadium (still 3 hours before gametime) I'll let the slide show tell the rest of the story. After the game, we drove home. This trip was unbelievably therapeutic and I had the chance to get closer to some really good Christian men. I became a Dallas Cowboys' fan. Here are some pictures.

How fun! Looks like you guys had a good time! "Unbelievably therapeutic" huh? Well I believe it. It's always good to be able to spend time getting closer to your Christian friends!

Reading this makes me wish I enjoyed pro-football as much as I devour college!

Chuck E. Cheese for old dudes? I love it! You know, my best friend's 4-year-old calls it "Chuck E. Jesus."

AND a cowboy's fan to boot. My dad will be so proud of you!!! Glad you had a great time, and can't wait to see both of you.

I'm not really up to much at all. We just got back from a week in Montreal. Other than that I'm just working and spending time with my wife. Being married is awesome, I don't know why we waited so long. Life is good, how's Arkansas?
