Bits and Bites

The next 3 books in my queue:

Year of Living Biblically - Guy has the idea of trying to literally live as the Bible commands for a full year. Then he writes a book about his experiences. Most of the OT commands and lifestyle peculiarities will give rise to comedic situations. I'll let you know how it goes.

Starving Jesus - These guys pastor and lead a church in Grand Rapids. This one seems to be about Christians needing to get up off their tails and actually do the work Jesus said we should be doing. I know, it's crazy. I've heard a lot of good things about this one.

Simply Christian - J.I. Packer said that this guy was intelligent. That's like Michael Jordan saying somebody is good at basketball. Really looking forward to this little read.

Among my many talents is the advanced ability to quickly grow vast amounts of facial hair. The Australians call a mustache a "Mo". Some guys have teamed up with the Prostate Cancer Foundation for a month long fund-raising campaign. So, I'm growing a sweet mustache throughout November in trying to raise some money for Prostate Cancer Research and awareness. "Movember". Yes. I'll share more details later but if you might want to donate some money (Year end is approaching and the Prostate Cancer Foundation will provide proof reciepts for tax deductibility), click on the image to the lower right and they'll take care of you(My registration number is 145490). If you want to join my Movember team and grow a wicked stache for a good cause, leave me a comment and we'll get it taken care of. If you'd like to know more about the endeavor, go here.

Hi Alan,

You will LOVE Simply Christian I think. It is a huge book. And NT Wright is more than intelligent in my opinion. He's brilliant!
Happy reading--and let us know what you think.
